the work · case study

He fixed one line. The Manager fixed the page he hadn't mentioned.

Owen Roberts runs Best Removalists Newcastle. On one afternoon he worked two websites through Fleetpages at the same time, thirteen changes approved that day between them, and wrote to us about it unprompted. His words are quoted; everything else is read from the platform's own record.

Owen Roberts Director, Best Removalists Newcastle Two sites Best Removalists Newcastle · Furniture Removals Newcastle 31 August 2026 2:16pm to 4:41pm
I was running two sites concurrently without feeling that I was maintaining two websites. I was thinking about the businesses and making decisions.
Owen Roberts, by email, 31 August 2026
what he changed

Two sites, one afternoon.

Every item below is a change Owen asked for, previewed and approved. Both sites are on their staging hosts, being finished before they go live.

furniture removals newcastle The new Packing Materials page on Furniture Removals Newcastle

Furniture Removals Newcastle

  • Packing Materials page with his carton, tape, paper and tissue prices, the protective materials the crew uses, and blanket weights. Added to the menu.
  • Contact form rebuilt: pickup and delivery addresses with "add another", a check-all-that-apply list from packing to pianos, and a "when do you need to move?" question.
  • Lake Macquarie page, linked from Locations.
  • Contact details: the enquiry address into header and footer, servicing area only, no street address.
  • Mobile menu: a phone number that was dark on dark green now reads.
  • Dismantling: what the crew will take apart, and what to do before they arrive to keep the cost down.
I had it build a detailed Packing Materials page with actual prices and information about the protective materials and different furniture blankets we use. I rebuilt the contact form so customers can select services, enter multiple pickup and delivery addresses and give us a useful indication of timing.

Best Removalists Newcastle

  • Pricing page: a new "before you ask for a quote" section, then the packing wording corrected.
  • Packing Services, Local Removals and Maitland brought into line on how packing is charged. The story of that one is below.
  • Three packing guides and a second pass on two pages, built and waiting on his yes at the time of writing.
the pricing example

One correction became four consistent pages.

Owen's site had said, in more than one place, that packing was quoted at a fixed price. It isn't only that: he charges hourly plus materials or a fixed price, whichever suits. He corrected one line. Here is what happened next, timed from the platform's record.

  1. 2:24pm

Owen leaves a note on the Pricing preview. One line said he recommends a fixed price for packing. He doesn't. He asked for that line changed.

  2. 2:29pm

The Manager corrects a second page he hadn't mentioned. In the same pass it read the Packing Services page, found it said the same thing, fixed both and sent one approval back.

    approved 2:35pm
  3. 2:42pm

After the publish, the site check-over finds a third. Every publish is followed by a read of the site. The Local Removals page still said packing was "quoted at a fixed price". Nobody asked for the check. A fix was built as a preview and put in front of him.

    approved 2:46pm
  4. 4:35pm

Owen asks for a review. It finds a fourth and offers the rest. "Review the site for inconsistency after we've made the changes." A Maitland fix was built within the minute, and the Manager offered to build the whole set as one change. Owen: "Mention both ways everywhere."

Maitland approved 4:41pm 3 guides in preview
I had asked for an update in one place. It read the other pages and flagged that more needed changing. I did not ask it to audit those pages. I reviewed the changes and approved them.
Owen Roberts
before

"Quoted at a fixed price rather than by the hour, because that's the honest way to charge for it."

Maitland page
after

"Quoted either at an hourly rate plus the materials used, or as a fixed price for the job, whichever suits you better."

how it felt to use

Ask. Preview. Approve.

Nothing on either site changed without Owen seeing it first, on a private copy, and saying yes. Twelve changes published between 2:35pm and 4:41pm, every one on his approval.

When a change is ready, I see the website as it will actually appear. Fleetpages takes me through everywhere that has changed and lets me check it on desktop, tablet and phone. I can approve it or ask for another edit. Nothing goes live until I approve it.
It also keeps track of requests I have not finished reviewing. I occasionally get an email bringing an earlier request back and asking whether I still want it.
The writing has been surprisingly good. It produces reasonable business copy rather than generic AI filler. I still review it closely and keep refining it, but there is no awkwardness about asking again, changing direction or perfecting small details.
After a couple of hours, both sites were materially better. If I had more time, I would have kept going.
